Green Forest Timber

Green Forest Timber was established in 2010 and has supplied decking timber for the Sydney area for over a decade. The business moved to larger premises in May 2015. It sells seven brands of major composite decking, including Eva-Last, Modwood, Trex, Timbertech, Newtechwood, Woodevo and Millboard, alongside softwood and hardwood decking such as Merbau, Spotted Gum, Blackbutt and premium treated pine.

The business is positioned to distribute environmentally friendly decking products, and all material used comes from 100% legal sources and is certified. Green Forest Timber purchases directly from the manufacturer and has preferred installers available. Its main services are supplying decking timber and related products including fasteners, treated pine, plywood, skirting and door jambs.

Trade customers and home project builders describe Green Forest Timber as a supplier they return to for decking and structural timber, with Lukas repeatedly singled out as the person who answers questions honestly and matches materials to the job at hand. Several accounts note the depth of knowledge behind the counter, whether the enquiry concerns decking boards, pergola timber or species such as Merbau and Trex, and several note that advice on installation came with the order rather than being an afterthought.

Pricing is described as fair and competitive, with one account of pricing being secured ahead of an increase and short-term storage arranged until a job was ready. Prompt service, friendly counter staff and careful loading are recurring themes, and delivery with hand unloading to the site is mentioned. Buyers of timber for pergolas and new decks note that the quality of the boards met expectations, and the smooth handling of the whole process is a point that comes up often. Repeat business from builders and referrals between friends round out the picture, with the yard's range and willingness to help closing out most accounts.
