Hunter Timber Designs - Deck Builder & Carpenter

Hunter Timber Designs is an owner-operator carpentry business and specialty deck builder. The owner is Lucas, a licensed carpenter with more than 23 years working in landscaping, arboriculture, and carpentry fields. Lucas is a fully licensed carpenter and timber deck builder. The business services Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and surrounding areas.

It specialises in building new timber decks from treated pine and hardwood decking such as merbau, spotted gum, blackbutt, jarrah, and ironbark. The business also renovates, updates, and repairs existing timber decks. Other timber building projects include timber picket fences, timber balustrading, VJ panelling, timber screens, and general carpentry work such as architraving, skirting, door frames, and timber framing.

Hunter Timber Designs is the company that customers repeatedly associate with Lucas, the tradesperson named most often in feedback for deck construction, deck replacement, fencing and smaller structural carpentry across Newcastle. Reviewers describe him as professional, hard working and meticulous, noting that he turned up as arranged and kept clients updated as the work progressed. A theme that recurs is his readiness to accept challenging sites, including one steep block with restricted rear access that other firms had quoted but then declined, which he completed alone in about a week.

The standard of finish is described as careful at every stage, from framing and stairs through to fencing, and the cost is called reasonable and substantially lower than competitive quotes. Speed also comes up repeatedly, with a front entry porch finished in under two days once materials arrived. Communication before, during and after each project is reported as reliable, and the final outcome draws consistent satisfaction from those who commissioned work. Projects span decking, stair construction, fencing and entry structures, and several customers indicate they would engage the same craftsman again.
