MPJ Building

MPJ Building is a small, hands-on decking team led by owner Michael. The business has over 20 years' experience building decks and specialises in timber and composite decking. It serves Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and parts of the Hunter. Services include timber decking, composite decking, new deck builds, deck replacements, roofs over decks, and outdoor building.

Newcastle residents who have engaged MPJ Building describe a builder whose work centres on decks, stairs and structural upgrades around the home. Michael and his crew are named for turning up when they say they will, keeping clients informed from the initial quote through to handover and leaving each day's site clean and safe. Something that features in review after review is the fairness of the pricing and the keenness of the quote, with customers also appreciating the written contract and the after-care guidance Michael offers on maintaining the timber.

The standard of the finished result draws consistent praise across poolside decks, full front-and-back rebuilds, hardwood stairs that replaced rotted treated pine, garage repurposing and a new bedroom. Reviewers note that Michael is honest, friendly and happy to talk through options so a project stays within budget, and that the team works quickly and finishes inside the agreed timeframes. Repeat work is common, with several clients returning to Michael for further improvements or rebuilds after earlier projects. The completed deck, the enclosed bin area and the converted garage are cited as examples of a professional process running smoothly from first quote to final handover.
