If we could put Six Stars we would!! We have just had a deck replaced by Canberra Decks and from the moment we met Leigh and his Foreman Damir we had a really positive vibe and a real feeling that we were talking to professionals. They listened carefully to our requirements and made careful and considered comments and suggestions which made us feel we were not just customers but part of the team. When Damir told us what day and time his team would turn up they turned up not at 7.00 am on a cold Canberra morning they turned up at 6.45 am and did this every day until the job was done. A young team of professionals with a great attitude and a great work ethic. We know because we were here every day and saw their work first hand. Their painter was like the rest of the team polite and professional and did a great job. In this day and age it is very hard to get tradespeople of this calibre and it was obvious that Leigh Shannon and Damir have picked and trained an excellent team of young professionals. Canberra Decks has just delivered an absolutely stunning Millboard composite deck with gable roof that has transformed our outdoor space—we couldn’t be more thrilled! Leigh elevated our architect’s plans with his expertise in deck design and construction, resulting in a significally improved outcome. Building foreman Damir and his exceptionally skilled crew were true perfectionists, crafting every detail with precision and care. We were impressed with daily site clean-ups, no disruptive noise or language, and thoughtful construction that preserved our cherished green vegetation wall intact—enhancing the deck’s magical, nature-immersed beauty without a single casualty. Huge thanks to Leigh, Damir, and the entire team for their flawless, beautifully crafted masterpiece!

We had a Modwood composite deck installed by Canberra Decks, (owner Leigh Bason). During installation I noticed issues and raised them immediately with both the foreman and Leigh. I was reassured there would be no problem as the materials were under warranty. Over the following months there were multiple site visits involving Leigh and other company representatives. We were sent various cleaning products and asked to complete repeated cleans, yet the issue remained clearly visible. Throughout this process, Leigh did not actively address our concerns or assist us in progressing the matter with Modwood. At one point, the problem was even attributed to Canberra water. After a long 12+ months, numerous phone calls, emails, and formally lodging a claim ourselves, testing was finally conducted on the product — and it was confirmed to be defective. We are extremely disappointed that we, as homeowners, were left to manage and push this process ourselves. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Canberra Decks.

Leigh and the team were amazing from start to finish. They worked well with - and around - the other trades we had in our yard at the same time, and delivered a result we're thrilled with. Highly recommend.

This is what good looks like! Canberra Decks are a team of highly skilled and professional, hard workers who deliver outstanding results. We had them build a large deck (73m2) with a pitched roof pergola in our back yard, the large project has fully transformed our space. Leigh and his team were all excellent communicators, paid attention to detail, they problem solved collaboratively and involved us in the decision-making process – even though it took longer to do so. As a result, Canberra Decks have built what we wanted, there have been no “surprises”. Leigh attended our site on a regular basis and was always happy to answer questions and explore options including changes/additions to scope. I had a good feeling about Leigh from the time we got the quote, and when we met the team I continued to feel confident in their ability, listened-to and supported. Throughout the process – the team’s professionalism and pride in their work remained clear and was consistent. I was afraid it could be too good to be true, but no, Canberra Decks were consistent and always professional – even during the curly parts of the process – clear communications, honesty and transparency helped to navigate challenges, which in my past experience with other builders have been awkward, difficult and stressful. We had other quotes for the work which were marginally cheaper, but on reflection I believe that had we not engaged Canberra Decks, we would not have had the outstanding result we now have. Canberra Decks delivers!

Danny from CanberraDecks did a marvelous job stripping and refreshing the stain on our deck. Its looks so beautiful now, he really made the wood grain pop. He even suggested a slightly different stain to the one we recommended as he said it would accentuate the natural wood qualities of our particular timber. Highly recommend and well priced too!

Canberra Decks did a great job updating our pergolas. The team is very professional and reliable. Delighted with the result!
