Huts & Decks WA

Huts & Decks WA is a family-owned business founded by Dave Dennis, a carpenter with over 40 years of experience. The business was started ten years ago after the family returned to Western Australia. The team includes Dave, Fiona, their sons Corey and Tristan, and Corey's wife Zoe. Tristan is the site supervisor. The carpentry team includes Nick, Ned, Finn and Byron. Corey Dennis is a Director and Registered Builder. Fiona Dennis is the Administration Manager. Zoe Dennis is the Administration & Drafting Officer.

Alicia Dennis is an Administration Officer. Huts & Decks WA supports local students with workplace training and chooses not to employ commission-based salespeople. Services include patios, huts, pergolas, decking and cladding, bamboo structures, and custom or DIY cabins. Huts & Decks WA has a display centre in Mandurah and has completed projects in Medina and Halls Head. The process includes exploring the display centre, on-site measure and quote, then building and installation.

Homeowners planning outdoor living areas in and around Mandurah repeatedly highlight the quality of the finished structures from Huts & Decks WA. Projects described in feedback include timber decking around pools, gable patios with intricate cut-ins to existing homes, gazebos, bamboo screens, pergolas and small cabins or retreats built in back gardens, including a Matilda cabin erected within four days. A handful of customers describe the tradesmen as professional, meticulous and friendly, noting that sites were left clean once work was completed.

A point made in several accounts is the helpfulness of Dave, the owner, who is said to spend considerable time at the display centre explaining materials and options, while Tristan receives thanks for his involvement in projects. Communication from the first enquiry through to completion is described as knowledgeable and easy, with the team arriving when they said they would and managing site preparation, permits and administrative steps as part of a family-run operation. Reviewers also mention the range of bamboo sheeting available for purchase and the overall value of the materials chosen. The recurring theme across accounts is a finish that meets or exceeds what was expected, with neighbours commenting on completed decking, huts and patios.
