PatchDaddy Home Maintenance

We saw Jake post on a community page with photos of a job he had done and his website. We were looking for someone to create a custom gate. After coming out to have a look and sending a quote, Jake proceeded to install the custom gate for us in Jan 2025. We had given some feedback as the gate had been installed as the paint on the gate wasn’t great initially, however he happily fixed this for us and we were pleased with the result. We even recommended Jake to family for other jobs. The gate cost over $2000 and by November 2025 the gate was falling apart! The gate had wheels which had come off (nothing to do with general wear), paint was peeling and the gate is completely unusable. We initially contacted Jake as soon as the wheels broke, as we felt it was only fair to provide feedback and give him an opportunity to correct the error. Jake responded professionally, stating he had some issues in his personal life at the time and assured us he would come and have a look and either fix/replace the gate as he took pride in his work. We then heard nothing, we have contacted him again to follow up and have had no response from him, indicating to us he doesn’t in fact take pride in his work, nor does he value his customers. I would not recommend him and also regret recommending him to family to do other jobs as we worry the work done for them was also of poor quality.

Jake was great to deal with, I’ve had a leaking balcony issue for the last 10 years and a lot of tradies had given me advice on the cause and how to fix it, most of it was Rubbish advice. Jake nailed it, and fixed it quick. I would highly recommend him for any maintenance issues
