Bill & Ben The Cabinet Men

Bill & Ben The Cabinet Men is a cabinet making business in Townsville, founded by owner Shane Bloomfield, who has over 28 years of industry experience and 30 years of designing and building experience. The company is multi-award-winning, with awards dating from 1994 to present. It operates a showroom and a factory/workshop in Garbutt. Services include kitchen design and complete kitchen renovation, with a 3-D video preview of designs before construction.

The company has a nil upfront payment policy and guarantees its workmanship. It is a qualified cabinet maker employer and is seeking an apprentice cabinetmaker. The company has participated in the Townsville to Cairns Bike Ride every year since 2017 and, since 2021, has been an official supporter of the McGrath Foundation fundraising appeal through Polytec.

Bill & Ben The Cabinet Men handles cabinetmaking and kitchen work, from complete renovations to standard joinery and freestanding furniture pieces, and the standard of the finished result is a theme running through the feedback. Several customers describe stone island benches, side benches and glass splashbacks among the details that lifted the look of their kitchens, with one noting a bespoke makeup station in an ensuite. One thing mentioned again and again is the design stage, where the brief was absorbed and refinements offered, including guidance on sink placement and basin styles that improved everyday function.

Prompt, courteous service is another recurring thread, alongside helpful support once the cabinets were installed. Shane is named for making sure kitchens function as well as look good, while Debbie on the administrative side earns praise for her part in the process. The approachable manner kept up from design through to completion is mentioned repeatedly, as is the readiness to find solutions when problems arose. One kitchen completed as an insurance repair was finished to a high standard for a seriously ill client, exceeding what had been expected. Pricing is considered fair for the scope of work delivered.
